The Anthropology Department at ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ was founded in 1938 by Hortense Powdermaker. Today, ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ is one of New York’s preeminent institutions for undergraduate anthropology education. Additionally, most of our faculty are part of the Anthropology Doctoral Program at the CUNY Graduate Center, which trains highly successful PhD students and articulates with the New York Consortium in Evolutionary Primatology. Opportunities at ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ extend beyond the classroom through undergraduate research and fieldwork with faculty.
