For the current application cycle, all eligible students must be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien<\/li>\n<li>Majoring in Computer Science at ºì¶¹ÊÓÆµ<\/li>\n<li>Having a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0<\/li>\n<li>Considered Low-income Status (a zero or low expected family contribution) as indicated on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and evidence of unmet financial need<\/li>\n<li>Applying from either: Community College with an Associates Degree who transfers (with priority to LAGCC and QCC students), <strong>OR<\/strong> ºì¶¹ÊÓÆµ who entered as freshmen and will become a Junior or Senior in the Fall 2025 semester<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;How much money can I receive?&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Amounts can change yearly. The maximum NSF S-STEM Scholarship is $5,000 each semester for up to 2 years.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, you must fill out the FAFSA form every year while you are in school in order to stay eligible for the NSF S-STEM Scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Is this only for juniors?&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>You are qualified if you are becoming a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Junior or Senior<\/span><\/strong> in the Fall 2025 semester. Applicants who are graduating soon may not receive the full 2-year stipend but are still encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p>If you are applying as a <em>rising senior<\/em> who began your freshman year at QC, please select \u201cYes, I will be a raising junior or senior who entered QC as a freshman.\u201d during your NSF eTAP application.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;How do I apply?&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>You should start the application through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/nsfs-stem\/\">NSF ETAP website<\/a> and select &#8220;Apply Now&#8221;. The grant use the information on the application form to determine your eligibility for a scholarship, and how much you\u2019re eligible to receive.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;What should I do to maintain the scholarship?&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p class=\"services_text\">In general, you must maintain enrollment in a computer science course of study at ºì¶¹ÊÓÆµ to receive a NSF S-STEM scholarship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"services_text\">In addition to making satisfactory academic progress, scholarship recipients will be required to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 for each semester.
