Flushing, NY, January 13, 2026 \u2013 The ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ Choral Society will hold auditions for new members to perform for the remainder of the group\u2019s 85th anniversary season, which runs through spring 2026. The upcoming spring concert will feature Gabriel Faur\u00e9\u2019s Requiem<\/em> and the world premiere of a work by Los Angeles-based composer David Stern that is based on Walt Whitman\u2019s\u00a0Leaves of Grass<\/em>.<\/p>\n Auditions consist of basic singing skills; no preparation is necessary. Applicants may schedule an audition via Zoom or in person in Room 350 of the ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ Music Building on Wednesday, January 21, from 6 to 9 pm; Monday, January 26, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm; and Tuesday, January 27, from 3 to 5 pm at this link: https:\/\/calendly.com\/qcchoirs\/qccsauditions<\/a>.<\/u><\/p>\n Weekly rehearsals take place on Wednesdays at the college from 7:30 to 9:45 pm, beginning Wednesday, January 28.<\/p>\n The ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ Choral Society welcomes anyone with prior singing experience to audition, including QC faculty, staff, students, and alumni, and members of the surrounding community. High school students are also invited to participate through the society\u2019s high school outreach program.<\/p>\n From its founding in 1941, the ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ Choral Society has offered music lovers from throughout New York City and Nassau and Suffolk counties the opportunity to learn and perform choral masterpieces.
