All faculty teaching courses with required Anthology Portfolio assignments (as identified by your program) are encouraged to complete assessments on Anthology Portfolio. Completion of assessments is essential for the School of Education to conduct its annual reviews of programs and candidates\u2019 performance. It is essential that you complete the required assessments of your candidates\u2019 submissions on Anthology Portfolio in a timely manner.<\/div>\n

Completing EPP-wide and program-wide assessments are important elements for the continuous improvement of the School of Education and educator preparation programs. It will also allow a candidate to track their professional development as they progress through their program.<\/div>\n

There is no need for you to create assignments for your class. All Anthology assessments are preloaded in the candidate\u2019s portfolio. You will simply need to wait for the assignments to be submitted to you on Anthology before you can assess.<\/p>\n

There are two ways to access assignments submitted to you:
(i) You can click on the \u201cPending Assessments\u201d on your Dashboard:\u00a0click here for instructions<\/a>
(ii) You can use the \u201cAssess\u201d option from the Main Menu (left margin):\u00a0click here for instructions<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

[NOTE: Submitted assignments that have not been assessed will appear as Pending. Incomplete assessments will appear as either \u201cIncomplete\u201d or \u201cDraft\u201d. Be sure to fully assess student work so the student can get appropriate feedback on the assignment and the scores can be accurately recorded for all submissions. The mission of the Professional Education Unit at ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ is to\u00a0facilitate\u00a0the development of competent, caring, and qualified teachers, counselors, school psychologists, and educational leaders dedicated\u00a0to promoting equity, excellence, and ethics in urban schools and communities. To ensure that our candidates and\u00a0graduates have the knowledge and skills they need to become effective\u00a0practitioners and to advance assessment for learning, the Professional Education Unit has adopted an e-portfolio, a web-based assessment management system called Anthology Portfolio.<\/p>\n

Anthology Portfolio (previously known as Chalk & Wire) enables candidates to document\u00a0academic and professional\u00a0development, organize and showcase their work, and reflect on learning in alignment with programmatic goals, objectives, and national standards \u2014 including discipline-specific competencies. Anthology Portfolio also enables the Education Unit and its programs to maintain a quality assurance system comprised of valid data from multiple measures to engage in continuous improvement that is sustained and evidence-based.<\/p>\n

Candidates enrolled in programs within the Education Unit must maintain an active Anthology Portfolio subscription upon admission to an education program and formal enrollment in required coursework.<\/p>\n
