Please be sure to contact our office early if you are planning to submit a grant proposal. Each agency is different and many situations require additional planning. Once a funding source is identified, please use this checklist to help you with the nuts and bolts of preparing your proposal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Obtained and read latest RFP\/guidelines and forms from the sponsor<\/li>\n<li>Verified eligibility of PI and institution<\/li>\n<li>Contact ORSP and send <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/academics\/rasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2024\/04\/Internal-Approval-Checklist-FInal.pdf\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Internal Proposal Approval Checklist<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Determine requirements of the project:\n<ul>\n<li>Aims\/goals\/activities<\/li>\n<li>Personnel equipment\/supplies<\/li>\n<li>Budget<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Are you collaborating with another institution?<br \/>Get the contact information from your collaborator and forward to ORSP.\u00a0You will need the following from the other institution:\n<ul>\n<li>Authorizing Official Letter of Collaboration and\u00a0Subrecipient Commitment Form<\/li>\n<li>Statement of work<\/li>\n<li>Budget and justification<\/li>\n<li>Facilities statement<\/li>\n<li>Biosketch\/CV of your collaborator(s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Collect CVs (be sure of appropriate format for the proposal).<\/li>\n<li>Obtain letters of support.<\/li>\n<li>Are you using human subjects or animals; do you have approval? If not, contact the Office of Regulatory Compliance at 718-997-5415.<\/li>\n<li>Has everyone completed the Responsibie Conduct of Research Training? Are the certificates on file?<\/li>\n<li>Has the PI completed Conflict of Interest Training and is the certificate on file?<\/li>\n<li>Does the project involve an international collaboration that would require an export control review?<\/li>\n<li>Draft proposal and get someone else to review.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your fonts, margins, and other formatting issues are in compliance with sponsor guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Finalize budget and forms&#8211;including the Financial Disclosure Form and subcontracting forms, if needed&#8211;with ORSP at least 5 days before the deadline.<\/li>\n<li>Is cost-sharing in your proposal? Unless it&#8217;s mandated by the funding agency, take it out.
