The training module can be accessed from the vice chancellor&#8217;s website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuny.edu\/research\/compliance\/training-education.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.cuny.edu\/research\/compliance\/training-education.html.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>CUNY&#8217;s policy (see the written policy <a id=\"RCR Policy\" href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>) was put in place to address growing regulations from both NSF and NIH. NSF requires institutions to certify existence of a plan as well as\u00a0additional documentation for post-doctoral mentoring. NIH requires that all trainees, fellows, participants and scholars receive instruction in RCR (see NIH notice <a title=\"NOT-OD-10-019: NIH Requirements for RCR Instruction\" href=\"http:\/\/grants.nih.gov\/grants\/guide\/notice-files\/not-od-10-019.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>NOT-OD-10-019<\/strong><\/a> for details).<\/p>\n<p>Anyone applying for a research grant, whether funded internally or externally, will be asked to provide a copy of his or her current certificate of completion. RCR certificates are valid for three years.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to RCR training, please note that all CUNY personnel conducting research are subject to the following policies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cuny.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/media-assets\/Research-Misconduct-Policy-1.24-0224.pdf\">CUNY Research Misconduct Policy<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cuny.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/page-assets\/research\/research-compliance\/conflict-of-interest\/COI-Policy-6.01-approved-3-30-2020.pdf\">CUNY Conflict of Interest Policy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Faculty must also submit the appropriate <strong>Significant Financial Interest Disclosure Form<\/strong> before submitting a grant application.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Research Security Training Requirement for Federal Award Personnel:<\/em>\u00a0In accordance with Section 10634 of the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 (42 U.S.C. \u00a7 19234), each individual identified as a senior\/key person must certify that they have completed the requisite research security training that meets the requirements specified in<em>\u00a0Item 2 of Important Notice No. 149<\/em>\u00a0within 12 months prior to proposal submission.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you are conducting research overseas or have an international collaborator or other international component to your work, please see the CUNY policy on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cuny.edu\/research\/research-compliance\/export-control\/\">Export Controls<\/a>.
