Awards for Graduating Psychology Majors<\/h4>\n

Awards are given annually in spring. Applications are available each March and due in April. Applications for Psychology majors graduating in Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Winter 2026, and Spring 2026\u00a0are due on April 17, 2026.\u00a0 Please click the links below for applications.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Dr. ANDREA LI MEMORIAL AWARD<\/em><\/strong><\/a> A plaque is awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated excellence in psychological research. Special consideration will be given to students whose focus is in Behavioral Neuroscience, and those who have actively served the college and\/or community.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0HAROLD SCHUCKMAN AWARD<\/em> <\/strong><\/a>\u00a0A plaque and $500 is awarded to a graduating senior who will be attending a graduate program in psychology.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0DANIEL V. CAPUTO AWARD<\/em><\/strong><\/a> A plaque and $500 is awarded to a graduating senior who is committed to pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0JOHN V. CONTI AWARD <\/a><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>A plaque and $1,000 is awarded to a graduating senior who will be attending a graduate program in psychology or a related profession. Acceptable areas of graduate study are General Psychology, Behavioral Analysis, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling and Social Work. Preferred specialty areas: Autism, Developmental Disabilities, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Mental\/Emotional Illness.\u00a0 Preference is given to a student with financial need, scholastic excellence, and a desire to pursue graduate study in psychology or a related profession.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0DR. EFFIE MITSIS MEMORIAL AWARD<\/em><\/a> \u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0A plaque and $1,000 is awarded to a graduating senior who will be attending a graduate program in Neuroscience.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0DAVID FRIEDMAN NEUROSCIENCE AWARD<\/em><\/a> \u00a0<\/strong>A plaque and $1,000 is awarded to a graduating senior who will be attending a graduate program in psychology or neuroscience devoted to human research. Preference will be given to those doing research in the areas of Cognitive Neuroscience or Neuropsychology, especially those who have conducted neuroimaging studies (e.g., EEG, ERPs, fMRI). Students who have done animal research (e.g., behavioral neuroscience), especially if it relates to Alzheimer\u2019s disease, cognitive aging, and normal or abnormal developmental processes, will also be considered. Preference will be given to a student with financial need, and a high overall and in-major GPA.<\/p>\n
