The certificate in Media Production offers students a series of classes necessary to develop skills required to create a wide range of moving image media, including documentary and fiction filmmaking, online media, and television studio operations. Students will get a grounding in the technical basics of motion picture production including cinematography and post production. These skills can then be applied across media, such as television and online formats. This will enable them to gain internships and entry level positions with the production companies, digital firms, and creative-based organizations in and around New York City. For students wishing to apply to graduate film schools, this sequence of classes will give students the opportunity to prepare a creative portfolio.<\/p>\n
To receive a certificate, students are required to take five classes of the classes listed below for a total of fifteen credits:<\/p>\n

The admission requirements are the same as those for students majoring in Media Studies and Film Studies.<\/p>\n
You must get a C or greater for a class to qualify towards the certificate.<\/p>\n
There will be additional classes and independent studies that qualify that will be offered infrequently or on a one-off basis. To find out if a class or independent study qualifies contact Professor Leslie McCleave (leslie.mccleave@qc.cuny.edu<\/a>) or Professor Madeleine Hunt-Ehrlich (Madeleine.Ehrlich@qc.cuny.edu<\/a>).<\/p>\n
Please consult Professor Leslie McCleave or Professor Madeleine Hunt-Ehrlich. This is decided on a case by case basis.<\/p>\n
<\/strong>Contact Professor McCleave or Professor Hunt-Erlich before April 1 of the Spring Semester and email them a list of the production classes you have taken. They will check your grades and if you qualify, they will make sure you receive a certificate at graduation.<\/p>\n
