Online Request for OPT for F-1 Students<\/b><\/h2>\n

Carefully read the instructions listed below, then use the button at the bottom of this page to start your request for OPT.<\/p>\n

Overview & Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n

OPT is temporary employment authorization for F-1 students in degree programs to gain experience in jobs directly related to their major area of study. F-1 students are eligible for a total of 12 months of OPT per educational degree level (e.g., Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s, Doctorate).\u00a0 Students in non-degree programs are not eligible for any kind of off campus work authorization.<\/p>\n

Mandatory Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Attend the mandatory OPT Zoom workshop<\/a> before submission.<\/li>\n
  2. Submit your Graduation Plan Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. Complete theOPT Request Form<\/a>\u00a0after completing the above steps.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
