The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) Portal is an important tool that lets international students on post-completion optional practical training (OPT) and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) OPT meet their legal reporting requirements. In the SEVP Portal (Portal), students in F-1 status can:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Update their physical home address.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Update their mailing addresses.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Update their telephone numbers.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Update employer information.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Monitor their employment authorization.<\/p>\n
Only students with approved post-completion OPT or STEM OPT can create Portal accounts.<\/p>\n

It illustrates how to create a portal account and log activities during a period of approved post-completion OPT. In order to access the forms on this page, you will need to use your CUNY Login Credentials: @login.cuny.edu.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nYou received an email from SEVP stating that your account email address had changed, but you didn’t request the change.<\/h4>\n
Step 1<\/strong>: Log in to the SEVP Portal and enter the earliest start date the system allows<\/strong> (within the past 10 days).
Step 2<\/strong>: Submit the SEVP Portal Assistance Request Form here<\/a>
Step 3<\/strong>: Email ISSO at iss@qc.cuny.edu<\/span><\/a> with an official employment verification letter on company letterhead. The letter must include your full name, employer name, job title, actual start date, and supervisor\u2019s signature.
ISSO will review and correct your start date in SEVIS. Allow up to 10 days for changes to reflect in your portal.
Example:<\/strong> If your job started August 10 and today is September 5, the Portal may only let you enter a start date like August 20. Enter the earliest date the system allows, then complete Steps 2 and 3 so ISSO can correct the date in SEVIS.<\/p>\n\n
