Her research interests include nineteenth and twentieth century German literature and culture. She has published a book on the Expressionist Walter Hasenclever, and articles on Expressionism, Nietzschean feminism, Wilhelmine consumerism, Wilhelmine journalism, Romanticism, and the use of multimedia technologies in the foreign language classroom. Her edited volume on women and journalism, &#8220;Discovering Women&#8217;s History: German-speaking Journalists 1900-1950&#8221; appeared in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Spreizer has received National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), Fulbright, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), PSC-CUNY and other grants and funding for her research and teaching. She specialized in German-Jewish Studies at UPenn, with a particular focus on German- and Yiddish- language literary production in Austria. Her teaching background includes two years spent as Resident Director of UMaine&#8217;s study abroad program in Salzburg.
