Q: What is the Teaching in Vietnam program?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ partners with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) in Vietnam to provide QC students with the opportunity to help children improve their communicative English by providing a fun learning environment in SEAMEO\u2019s Summer Fun program.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Q:\u00a0What will students do in the program?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Students will create their own lesson plans and co-teach kids ages 6-15.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Q: How many hours per week will students be working?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Students will work 21 hours per week for five weeks from late June to the end of July.<\/span><\/p>\n Q: Do I have to be an education major?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n All majors are welcome to apply! Teaching or experience working with children is preferred, but not required.\u00a0<\/span>Education, TESOL, Linguistics, and CSD majors, however, are especially encouraged to apply!<\/span><\/p>\n Q: What if I already graduated?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n You must be enrolled for the upcoming Spring semester to participate in the program. If you are graduating in that Spring semester, you are still eligible. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Q: Is there a GPA requirement?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Yes, you must be in good academic standing (2.5 GPA or above).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Q: What is included in the program?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A round trip flight, transportation to and from the airport, housing during your stay, complimentary weekend trips around Vietnam, and a $25 USD stipend per working day will be provided for you.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Q: What do I need to contribute?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n CUNY Travel Insurance, a visa, a U.S passport expiring after February of the following year, and a cell phone plan of your choice is required of you. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Q: Can I apply for the program?<\/strong><\/p>\n *As of Summer 2026, the Experiential Education office will not be running the Teaching in Vietnam Program.
