Nakia M. Gray-Nicolas, EdD., is an associate professor of Educational Leadership in the Educational and Community Programs department of the School of Education at ºì¶¹ÊÓƵ, CUNY. Her scholarly research examines college readiness, access, and the persistence of traditionally marginalized students; distributed leadership and community engagement; and the intersectionality and experiences of Black women in educational leadership and academia. Her research, teaching, and service commitments focus on work that disrupts educational inequities. Dr. Gray-Nicolas is the 2023 winner of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Division\u00a0<\/span><\/span>A<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Emerging Scholar Award. Her scholarship has been published in book chapters and journal articles in\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>Race Ethnicity and Education, Journal of Cases in Education Leadership, Journal of Education Human Resources, Journal of School Leadership, Education Policy Analysis Archives, and the <\/span><\/span>International Journal of Qualitative Studies.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>She earned an EdD in Educational Administration from New York University, an\u00a0<\/span><\/span>MSEd<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in English Education (7-12) and an\u00a0<\/span><\/span>MSEd<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in Special Education (7-12) from Syracuse University, and a BA in English from Cornell University.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
